Moving to a new city from the comforts of my home seemed too heart-wrenching. All my aunts and uncles enlightened me on the horrors awaiting in the administrative capital of Kerala. They were right. I look at every person and place with horror in my eyes because I find everything is different here from the other parts of Kerala. As Iife is full of adjustments and acceptance, I’ve begun to go with the flow and embracing the reality is my forte now. The biggest horror of my six-month stay in Trivandrum is our hostel. Everything under this roof- from the intolerable mess food to the scheming hostel warden- makes my life as hellish as possible. If at all, there is one good thing that glues me to this place is just her, my roomie; Pinky. She is my first friend in this totally strange city and only resort whenever I’m bewildered. She has changed my perception that luck and I don’t even know each other. I’ve been absolutely lucky to have found someone like my Pinky Girl....
